🧠 ADHD Testing and Assessment at Healthy Minds Consulting

🧠 Comprehensive ADHD Testing at Healthy Minds Consulting

Now available across Florida/ Alabama  — for ages 6 to 60

At Healthy Minds Consulting, we provide comprehensive ADHD evaluations that combine clinical expertise, compassionate care, and evidence-based technology. Our process uses the QbCheck, an FDA-cleared assessment that provides objective data to support accurate diagnosis and effective treatment planning.

We use objective, evidence-based testing.

Our ADHD evaluations include QBCheck, an FDA-cleared and evidence-based assessment that objectively measures attention, impulsivity, and activity levels.

QBCheck helps differentiate ADHD from other conditions that may mimic similar symptoms—such as anxiety, depression, trauma, or sleep issues.

Think of it as a “focus scan” that gives measurable data to support your clinical evaluation. When combined with interviews, standardized rating scales, and history gathering, it allows our clinicians to deliver a thorough, well-rounded understanding of your attention profile.

What you can expect with your appointment:

1. A detailed conversation about your history and experiences
You or your child will participate in a structured clinical interview that explores developmental history, school/work functioning, behavior patterns, family context, and when symptoms first appeared. This allows us to hear your story in detail and in your own words.

2. Standardized testing appropriate for your age
You or your child will complete rating scales and questionnaires that are specifically designed for the age group being evaluated. For example, tools such as the Vanderbilt or Conners’ scales may be used for children, while adult ADHD inventories are used for teens and adults. These measures help compare symptoms to established norms for that age.

3. Input from others who see you or your child regularly (when appropriate)
With permission, we may gather information from parents, teachers, spouses, or caregivers to understand how symptoms show up across environments such as home, school, work, or social settings. This is especially important for evaluating children and adolescents.

4. Screening for other conditions that can overlap with or mimic ADHD
We also evaluate for anxiety, depression, trauma, sleep problems, and learning differences, since these can either resemble ADHD or occur alongside it. This ensures the final diagnosis and recommendations are accurate and tailored.

Throughout the entire process, we create a calm, nonjudgmental space where you or your child can speak openly. The goal is not simply to diagnose, but to bring clarity and direction so that the right supports and treatment options can be put in place.

We give you clear answers—often the same day

After reviewing your assessment results, clinical interview, and rating scales, we provide a detailed explanation and written summary.
If ADHD is indicated, we’ll discuss that openly. If not, we’ll help you identify what is contributing to your symptoms so you can move forward with confidence and a plan for success.

Treatment Planning and Intervention

After diagnosing a client with ADHD, the next important step is creating a personalized treatment plan that addresses their specific needs and goals. Our approach is well-rounded and evidence-based, integrating behavioral therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychoeducation, and skill-building strategies.

Evidence-Based Interventions We Use:

Behavioral Therapy:
Focuses on reinforcing positive behaviors and modifying problematic ones through reward systems, behavior contracts, and self-monitoring. Behavioral therapy helps clients develop new habits and routines that support their goals.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT):
Targets the thoughts and beliefs that contribute to ADHD-related challenges. Clients learn to reframe negative thought patterns, develop coping skills, and strengthen problem-solving abilities.

We also integrate mindfulness and acceptance-based strategies from third-wave CBT approaches—shown to improve focus, emotional regulation, and self-awareness.

Psychoeducation:
Educating clients and families about ADHD’s neurobiological roots, common challenges, and treatment options empowers them to make informed decisions and advocate for their needs.

Skill-Building Strategies:
Many individuals with ADHD struggle with executive functioning—organization, time management, planning, and follow-through. We teach and practice specific strategies such as using calendars, breaking tasks into smaller steps, and setting visual reminders to enhance daily functioning.

We follow through.

ADHD is not a one-time diagnosis—it’s an ongoing journey. We provide continued therapy and coaching for emotional regulation, executive functioning, and family communication. Follow-up testing can also be offered to monitor progress and ensure ongoing treatment success.

We strive for just right.

At Healthy Minds Consulting, we believe in balance.

  • Just the right amount of testing to get accurate answers.

  • Just the right amount of follow-up to ensure lasting change.

  • Just the right amount of support so every client can thrive—not just function.

Referrals for Medication Management

While Healthy Minds Consulting does not prescribe medication directly, we recognize that medication can be an important part of ADHD treatment for many individuals.

If your evaluation results indicate that medication may be beneficial, your clinician will:

  • Provide a referral to a trusted medical provider (psychiatrist, pediatrician, or nurse practitioner) experienced in ADHD management.

  • Coordinate care by sharing relevant assessment data, testing results, and recommendations—with your consent—to support the prescribing provider in making an informed decision.

  • Continue to provide therapeutic support, behavioral interventions, and regular follow-up sessions to monitor progress and help manage any challenges that arise during medication adjustment.

Our goal is to ensure a collaborative, whole-person approach where medical treatment and therapy work hand-in-hand to help clients achieve focus, balance, and emotional well-being.
